NOTURNALL will release their fourth studio album, entitled, “Cosmic Redemption”, showcasing its most impressive lineup and will feature a slew of special guests, including bassist DAVID ELLEFSON (both former MEGADETH) and MIKE PORTNOY (ex-DREAM THEATER, THE WINERY DOGS, SONS OF APOLLO), who previously toured with the band and appeared in the video for the single “SCREAM! FOR!! ME!!!”, and lastly Brazilian MPB legend, NEY MATOGROSSO.
The album ballad, “SHADOWS”, is already scheduled for heavy rotation on KISS FM, one of Brazil’s biggest rock radio stations. Also, the song “O TEMPO NÃO PARA” is already being played in numerous radios all over the country, as well as its music video is being aired on the main Brazilian music TV channels.
For the second half of the year, a new Latin American and European tour through more than 20 countries together with SONS OF APOLLO is scheduled, before crowning another great year with their THIRD Rock in Rio appearance. Moreover, the band is also expected to confirm a Japanese tour and be announced in the lineup of two more major festivals in December. In a span of just under a year, NOTURNALL will have performed over 70 shows for a combined audience of more than 300,000 people!
Besides, for three times during the course of one month, the Band became a trending topic in Brazil. First for releasing a music video with Brazilian music legend NEY MATOGROSSO, then appearing in “The Noite”, the most watched late night talk show in Brazil and one of the most watched in the world. Lastly, the band caught all the country’s attention again after recording a live DVD in the astonishing venue Opera the Arame, in the city of Curitiba, presenting a super produced show, being the first band in South America to have drummer and drum kit spinning 360 degrees, becoming completely upside down, while the singer entered the stage ziplining, as well as lasers and many other audiovisual effects.

The band has a very busy touring schedule already confirmed for 2022, which started with a 10-show South American tour together with SHAMAN, crossing all Brazilian regions. This tour was part of an initiative from NOTURNALL together with their manager, Mauricio Tarrago, with the intention to unite the most representative Brazilian Heavy Metal bands. Thus, the BRAZILIAN METAL ALLIANCE was born.

Release
Although a newer name in the Brazilian metal scene, NOTURNALL’s popularity is rapidly growing within Brazil and around the world. The band features founder and vocalist, THIAGO BIANCHI (ex-SHAMAN/KARMA), drummer, HENRIQUE PUCCI (ex-PROJECT46), bassist SAULO XAKOL (a former fan who joined the band in true “Rock Star'' movie fashion, after supporting Noturnall in their tour with James LaBrie and impressing for the quality of his solo project and familiarity with the band), and is rounded out by accomplished guitarist, MIKE ORLANDO, of ADRENALINE MOB fame, who was listed as a Top 100 Guitarist of all time and also a Top 10 Superstar in 2008 by Guitar Player Magazine.

Among its many accomplishments, the band has a strong social media presence and following, a steady revenue stream from merchandise sales, and tours scheduled with heavy hitters like DISTURBED, SLIPKNOT, SONS OF APOLLO, SEPULTURA, ADRENALINE MOB, ANGRA, SHAMAN and EDU FALASCHI to name a few. The band has also been fortunate to collaborate live and in the studio with heavy metal legends like RUSSELL ALLEN (SYMPHONY X), JAMES LABRIE (DREAM THEATER), MIKE PORTNOY, who previously joined NOTURNALL for tours in Europe and South America, and MICHAEL KISKE of HELLOWEEN, sang with them on stage at 2015’s Rock in Rio.
NOTURNALL’s discography includes three studio albums, one acoustic EP, which was recorded in the U.S,. and two DVDs. The first DVD documented the band’s first ever live performance, while the second was shot in Russia, making them the first Brazilian band to do so. A third DVD, currently in the final stages of production, will include footage captured on the band’s Redemption Tour with MIKE PORTNOY and their fourth DVD has already been shot at the breathtaking “Opera de Arame”, a floating stage and famous music venue in Curitiba, Brazil, showing the band’s superproduction as already mentioned here.

NOTURNALL will release videos for each track off of Cosmic Redemption. Known for their high quality Hollywood style video production, the band has plenty of surprises in store that promise not to leave fans disappointed. Before releasing any new videos, “SCREAM! FOR!! ME!!!” will be re-released. In the video, current NOTURNALL drummer, HENRIQUE PUCCI, goes drumhead to drumhead with special guest drummer, MIKE PORTNOY, in an all out drum duel, never seen before in Brazil. It also features superb special effects and stunts, including a spectacular muscle car rollover scene.
“O TEMPO NÃO PÁRA”, (“TIME DOESN’T STOP'') is a quintessential Brazilian rock anthem composed by notable Brazilian artist, CAZUZA (R.I.P.). The song was recorded with one of his oldest friends, the legendary, NEY MATOGROSSO, and filmed at Rio’s neofuturistic, Museum of Tomorrow (MUSEU DO AMANHÃ). While parts featuring MIKE ORLANDO were filmed back in New York. Directed by Alex Batista, who works with many of Brazil’s top artists. The video debuted live on television through Brazil on a top Brazilian TV network in one of the most watched late night talk shows worldwide, “THE NOITE”, hosted by DANILO GENTILI. Besides its huge live TV audience, YouTube videos from the interview and the music video accounted for more than 500k views in less than a month.
The video for “TRY HARDER” takes the band back to their Brazilian roots and is set to be filmed in the infamous “FAVELA DA ROCINHA”, Brazil’s largest favela seen in films such as “FAST & FURIOUS 5: RIO HEIST”, “HULK”, and “CITY OF GOD”.
The track “WAKE UP” will receive a new live version video, with a selection of images from the band’s DVD at Opera de Arame, showing highlights of their concert, such as the drums spinning 360 degrees, ziplining stage entrance, laser lights show, among many other audiovisual resources utilized in this superproduction.
The song “HEY!” will also receive a new live version, taken from the same Opera the Arame concert, featuring James LaBrie’s guest voices.
The concept for the album’s title track, “COSMIC REDEMPTION”, was come up with by the band, and involves a storyline that plays out on Mars with special 3D effects and post-production that will be done by “Under Control Films”. This video is already in its final stages of production.
“RESET THE GAME”, the powerful and frenetic opening track of the album was released exclusively on YouTube, with a music video showing studio and live band footage, in “making of” format. The video reached 150k views in less than a month and got a lot of press from Brazilian metal media, highlighting all members’ performance on an extremely fast and technical song and the standout lyrics containing straight up social criticism, not common for this musical style. In the words of Wikimetal site, “Noturnall brings strong lyrics and brutal criticism – both in words and sound – to the system that rules people’s lives in society, (...) still far from embracing changes capable of taking humanity to a higher state”.
2022 is turning out to be a major year for NOTURNALL. New music, new videos, and shows scheduled for new places around the world. NOTURNALL is back to business and eager to capitalize on their growing worldwide popularity.
